Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG to Hold YCSJ and Duelist Festival Back-to-Back in Fukuoka Next January

Konami disclosed information on October 23 on its official website regarding the major Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG tournament "Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES JAPAN (YCSJ) FUKUOKA 2027" and the fan event "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Festival FUKUOKA 2027." Both events will be held at the Hakata International Exhibition Hall & Conference Center in Fukuoka. YCSJ will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2027, followed by the Duelist Festival the next day on Sunday, January 17.

YCSJ: Purchase a "Participation Set" After Winning the Lottery

YCSJ has a capacity of 2,000 participants, who will be selected via lottery following advance applications. Applications will be accepted on the ticket sales service LivePocket from October 26 at 7:00 p.m. until November 9 at 11:59 p.m. Lottery results will be announced between November 13 and 18.

Instead of a separate entry fee, winners must purchase the "Blitzkrieg Duel Set" (4,000 yen, tax included) to compete. The set contents are as follows:

| Item | Details | |---|---| | Special Duel Field | Rubber material, 355×610mm | | Special Card Protectors | 100 sleeves | | Bonus Card | "Thunder Alliance - Step Leader" (雷盟－ステップリーダ) Ultra Rare Parallel |

Purchases are limited to one set per person, and participation rights cannot be transferred. The set will be distributed on-site after a player is eliminated from the tournament. Separately, the "Elfennotes Duel Set" (4,000 yen, shipping fee excluded) will be sold via web lottery, with the application period running from January 6 to 12, 2027. Winners of the YCSJ lottery are not eligible to win this set.

The tournament will conclude in a single day. The preliminary rounds will feature an 8-round Swiss Draw (25 minutes per duel), with players eliminated after two losses. The top 32 players will advance to a 5-round single-elimination final tournament, which includes a 3rd place playoff. The 1st place prize includes a trophy, "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" (Ultra Rare), and "Call of the Haunted" (Ultra Rare). Players ranking 5th to 32nd will receive "Call of the Haunted" (Ultra Rare).

Participants must possess a Konami Card Game ID linked to the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Neuron" app. Decks must be registered via Neuron between January 5 and 16, 2027. Only Japanese-version cards may be used, and Side Decks are not permitted. The official page restricts eligibility to residents of Japan.

Duelist Festival the Following Day; Applications Open Nov. 27

The Duelist Festival on January 17 will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry also requires winning a lottery applied for via the Yu-Gi-Oh! Neuron app. There are two application categories: the "OCG Category" and the "Rush Duel Category." Applicants may apply for both, but can only win entry for one category. The application period runs from November 27 at 4:00 p.m. to December 14 at 11:59 p.m., with results announced on December 18.

The official page stated that players may apply concurrently for the "Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Japan Championship 2026 [Team Battle] Fukuoka Qualifier" and the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel Galaxy Cup 2026 [Team Battle] Fukuoka Qualifier," but duplicate wins across the three events will not occur. Participants eliminated from either qualifier may enter the festival after the festival reception time. Details for each category and information regarding on-site sales (merchandise) will be released at a later date. ID verification and bag checks will be conducted upon entry, and trading or selling cards inside the venue is prohibited.

Points of Interest for Korean Readers

Because YCSJ Fukuoka is restricted to residents of Japan and permits only Japanese-version cards, it is difficult for Korean players to compete directly. The primary practical interest for domestic readers is the distribution path of the tournament participation set bonus card "Thunder Alliance - Step Leader" and top placement prize cards. According to the official page, these cards will be distributed exclusively to YCSJ lottery winners and participants, with no general sale plans disclosed. No plans for holding either event in Korea have been announced.
