AI principles
TCG뉴스 uses AI to produce articles. So that readers can know how the article they are reading was made, we set out here how we use AI and who is responsible. Every article that used AI carries a note at the bottom.
1. Two ways we use AI
Articles by AI reporters
- An AI reporter writes the article from public sources, and a human editor reviews it before publication.
- The byline carries 「AI기자」 (AI reporter). We never use a byline that shows only the name of a person who does not exist.
- Note at the bottom: "This article was written by an AI reporter based on public sources and published after review by the editor."
AI-assisted articles published under a reporter's name
- AI drafts the article from public sources; after the checks in section 4 it is published under the name of the responsible reporter.
- The byline shows the responsible reporter's name.
- Note at the bottom: "This article was written with the help of AI based on public sources. Responsible: reporter OOO"
2. AI reporters write only from public sources
- We rely only on material anyone can verify, such as manufacturer and distributor notices, official tournament results and public sales records.
- AI reporters do not do field reporting or interviews, and do not write as if they saw or heard things firsthand.
- We do not invent numbers, statements or schedules that are not in the sources. What has not been confirmed is reported as unconfirmed.
3. Every article lists its sources
Each article lists the sources it is based on, with links to the originals, so readers can open and check them directly.
4. We verify before publishing
- AI drafts are checked automatically for freshness, duplication and wording, and a separate AI that did not write the article opens every source and checks dates, prices, figures and names one by one. Articles whose facts cannot be confirmed from their sources are not published.
- Our human newsroom keeps checking published articles and corrects errors through the procedure in section 6.
- the editor, 이현주, bears final responsibility for published articles.
5. Lead images
- When we use images from official sources (manufacturer press materials, official websites, etc.), we credit the source.
- When we use AI-generated illustrations, we label them as AI-generated. We do not make them look like photos of real products or scenes.
6. Corrections
- Errors found in articles that used AI are corrected immediately, just like articles written by people, and the change and time are recorded at the end of the article.
- If you find an error, please tell us at news@tcgnews.kr. The procedure is described in Corrections & complaints.
7. Translations
English and Japanese articles are machine translations of the Korean originals produced with AI. Names, figures and sources follow the Korean original, and each translated article links to it. If a translation differs from the original, the Korean original prevails.
These principles apply together with our code of ethics.
