Code of ethics
TCG뉴스 was created to give readers who play, collect, buy and sell trading cards information they can trust. Because we know a single line in an article can move the price of a card, we follow the principles below. They apply equally to AI reporters and to human reporters and editors.
1. Fact-checking
- We write articles only from verifiable material such as manufacturer and distributor notices, official tournament results and public sales records.
- We do not report community posts, leaked images or hearsay as fact. When we must cover them, we state clearly that they are unconfirmed.
- Dates, prices, quantities and names are checked against the original once more before publication.
2. Attribution
- Each article lists the sources it is based on, with links to the originals for online material wherever possible.
- We credit photos and images and do not use images the rights holder has not permitted.
- If we referred to another outlet's article, we name that outlet. We do not rewrite or copy others' articles and present them as our own.
3. Disclosure of interests
- When we cover products sold or handled by TCG뉴스's publisher or its affiliates, we disclose that relationship above the article.
- The same disclosure is attached to articles that contain links to our own online store.
- We do not change an article's content, assessment or placement because of such interests.
4. Separation of advertising and journalism
- Paid content is labeled 「광고」 (AD) in the headline and disclosed above the article as advertising.
- We do not write, drop or change articles at the request of advertisers or sponsors.
- Advertising sales and editorial decisions are made separately.
5. No price forecasts or buy recommendations
- Market articles report trades that have already happened and publicly visible price movements; they do not predict whether prices will rise or fall.
- We do not urge readers to buy or sell particular cards or boxes, and we do not use expressions such as "you must buy now" or "this will make money".
- Cards are not investment products. Our articles never blur the point that purchase decisions are the reader's own.
6. Respect for readers and people
- When covering fraud or counterfeiting, we do not identify victims, and we do not single out individuals over unproven allegations.
- We do not publish personal information about players, sellers or collectors beyond what they have made public themselves.
- Mindful that many of our readers may be young, we avoid language that encourages gambling-like behavior or is otherwise harmful.
7. Corrections
- Errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and we record at the end of the article what was changed and when.
- Correction and reply requests are handled under our Corrections & complaints procedure.
How we use AI reporters is set out separately in our AI principles.
