An online competition titled "Mega Evolution Battle," in which only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution can participate, is being held in the Pokémon battle game Pokémon Champions. On October 29 (U.S. time), The Pokémon Company International announced the competition on its official website, alongside a Spewpa Mystery Gift distribution for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Champions rewards for bringing over a Vivillon from Z-A, and the release of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle.

Double Battle Competition Exclusively for Mega Evolution Pokémon

The Mega Evolution Battle is held in a Double Battle format. Players can enter by navigating to Battle → Online Competitions in the game and selecting the event from the list. Registration opens at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on November 5 and remains open until the end of the competition at 6:00 p.m. on November 15. In Korea Standard Time (KST), this corresponds to November 6 (Fri) at 11:00 a.m. through November 16 (Mon) at 11:00 a.m.

Completing at least three matches that result in a win or loss during the competition period rewards the participation title "Mega Evolution Battle Challenger." The titles awarded based on final rankings are as follows:

| Rank | Title | |---|---| | 1st–100th | Mega Evolution Battle Master | | 101st–1,000th | Mega Evolution Battle Veteran | | 1,001st–10,000th | Mega Evolution Battle Ace | | 10,001st–100,000th | Mega Evolution Battle Rising Star |

Rewards can be claimed from the in-game mailbox by launching the game and navigating to Battle → Online Competitions after the competition concludes and results are announced.

Legends: Z-A Spewpa Distribution and Champions Link

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a Spewpa that randomly evolves into one of 16 Vivillon patterns is being distributed via Mystery Gift. The distribution began on October 29 (U.S. time) and runs until November 18 at 5:59 p.m. PST, which corresponds to November 19 (Thu) at 10:59 a.m. KST. Players can receive it by selecting Link Play → Mystery Gift → Get via Internet from the main menu and saving the game. It can only be received once per save data, and while linking a Nintendo Account is required, a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not. The Mystery Gift feature unlocks after approximately one hour of gameplay. Both the standard edition and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, across both packaged and digital download versions, are eligible.

When players worldwide evolve Spewpa into Vivillon, Vivillon points accumulate on the official "Vivillon Challenge!" website. If the target of 660,000 points is reached, a Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon will be distributed, with the distribution schedule to be announced separately. This challenge has no end date.

Depositing a Vivillon raised in Legends: Z-A into Pokémon HOME and then bringing it into Pokémon Champions rewards a Meadow Pattern Vivillon Trainer icon, six Training Tickets, and 666 VP. The eligibility period runs from October 28 at 11:00 p.m. PDT to January 30, 2027, at 6:59 a.m. PST, which corresponds to October 29 at 3:00 p.m. to January 30, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. KST. Both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions are eligible to receive the rewards.

Switch 2 Bundle: Base Game and DLC on a Single Card

This distribution commemorates the release of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle. The bundle includes the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition base game and the DLC "Mega Dimension" on a single game card. While it can also be played on the original Nintendo Switch, it runs identically to the standard Switch version, omitting additional features that utilize Switch 2 specifications. Purchasing the bundle provides a serial code to receive 100 Ultra Balls via Mystery Gift.

For players in Korea, registration for the Mega Evolution Battle opens on November 6 at 11:00 a.m., and the Spewpa distribution deadline is November 19 at 10:59 a.m., converted directly from the PST times specified in the official announcement. The announcement did not list the Korean release date or price for the bundle, and at the time of writing, no corresponding Korean announcement could be confirmed on the official Pokémon Korea (포켓몬코리아) website.
