Japanese Pokémon TCG Mega Deck 3-Type Set to Release November 13 for 5,500 Yen

The official Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game website announced on October 16 that the 「スペシャルデッキセットMEGA メガオーダイル・メガカイリュー・メガゲンガー」 (Special Deck Set MEGA Mega Feraligatr, Mega Dragonite, and Mega Gengar) will be released on Friday, November 13. The suggested retail price is 5,500 yen (tax included).

The official product page introduced the item as "the perfect product to start playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game right now." It bundles three pre-constructed decks containing three Mega Evolution ex types respectively, along with the supplies needed for matches in a single box.

Contents: Three 60-Card Decks, a Playmat, and Player's Guide

The contents listed on the official page are as follows.

Each deck contains two holo foil cards of its respective Mega Evolution ex. Pre-evolution stages also include one holo foil card each. The Mega Feraligatr deck includes 1 holo foil card each of Totodile and Croconaw; the Mega Dragonite deck includes Dratini and Dragonair; and the Mega Gengar deck includes Gastly and Haunter. The official page stated that "some cards previously released or distributed are included."

According to the official description, Mega Feraligatr ex's attack "Killer Crunch" deals a total of 400 damage if damage counters are placed on the opponent's Active Pokémon. Mega Dragonite ex features the Ability "Sky Carry," which allows the player to switch their Active Pokémon with a Benched Pokémon, and an attack that discards 2 Energy to deal 330 damage. Mega Gengar ex has an Ability that reduces the Prize cards taken by the opponent by 1 when the player's Darkness Pokémon is Knocked Out by an opponent's "Pokémon ex" attack.

Among the Trainer cards, 「ハイパーボール」 (Ultra Ball), 「ボスの指令」 (Boss's Orders), and 「リーリエの決心」 (Lillie's Determination) are included in all three decks.

Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 Unveiled on the Same Day

On the same day, the official website also unveiled Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 of the "MEGA" series. It will be distributed at Pokémon Card Gyms across Japan starting Sunday, November 1, and can be obtained by participating in events such as Gym Battles and Deck-Building Battles. It is not a retail product. Each pack contains one random card out of seven types, including 「メガヒードランex」 (Mega Heatran ex). The support card 「ハルジオ」 (Halジオ), new illustrations of Golett and Gastly, and three reprinted cards (「ハリテヤマ」 [Hariyama], 「エネルギーリサイクル」 [Energy Recycle], and 「ムク」 [Staravia]) are also included.

Korean Edition Status Yet Undecided

As of October 20, Pokémon Korea has not confirmed any release plans for this special deck set in Korean. Whether this 3-type set will launch in South Korea, along with its schedule and pricing, will be finalized only after an official announcement is made. Since Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 is an event distribution item for Japanese Pokémon Card Gyms, no domestic distribution plans have been separately announced.
